For several episodes so far, the new season of Haruhi Suzumiya has been a lot of the same. No, seriously, it's been the exact same dialog, same scenes, same situation from the third to seventh episodes so far, no joke. Or maybe there is a joke?
Kadokawa, those behind the series, have paid Kyoto Animation to animate the second season of Haruhi Suzumiya, yet have had them animate the same scenes, albeit with different clothing and slight changes here and there, repeatedly for the last several episodes as part of the 'endless eight', a part of the novels where the group enters a part of time that repeats over and over for over 15,000 times. Throughout each repetition, though only character who actually remembers everything is Nagato, who remains quiet stating her duty is simply to observe.
Ratings for the season? Down. Way down. But... who out there isn't thinking that they are planning something? It has to be good, whatever it is, but think about it. Bloggers everywhere are going to be raging about the repetition when they just wanted to see more of Haruhi... so much rage that everyone will have to see what the fuss is about. Then imagine their surprise when something really monumental happens in the series that just blows them away in the awesome kind of way. Yeah, it could happen. Here's hoping.
